During the school holidays, we organise a range of fun outings and holidays for the Young Carers that we support and everyone always has a blast!

2019

This summer we have been really busy delivering 12 day trips and 3 residentials supporting 263 young carers.

Over the April break, we accommodated 69 Young Carers on a day out.

• We hosted 2 trips to Dewar’s Ice Rink for a session of ice - skating and lunch when then went up to Noah’s for a game of bowling.
• We were lucky enough to take 12 young carers to Heart and Sound in Dunfermline where we learned how to DJ, had a sing-song on karaoke, played games and much more.
• The lovely staff from Columba 1400 also popped into The Gateway to host a ‘values day’ where 16 lucky young carers learned about their 6  core values through interactive activities and games.

2018

The October Holidays were short but sweet with 2 residentials to Kinloch Rannoch, horse riding and a trip to the swimming and cinema! Click here to read the full write up and see all the pictures!

This Summer we welcomed new members of staff and adventures as we packed in day trips to the Zoo, the Beach, Laser Tag and even a 5 day boat trip! Click here to read the full write up and see all the pictures!

The Young Carers Team had a very busy Easter Holiday arranging different day trips from Crazy Golf to Trampolining with lots and lots of Easter Eggs in between! Click here to read the full write up and see all the pictures!

2017

Last year we soaked up the summer sunshine and travelled as far as Canada!

July and August saw PKAVS Young Carers Team take two groups of YC's to Blackpool and to West Linton for the Scottish Young Carers Festival. Click here to read the full write up and see all the pictures!

Over the spring and summer months, we organised 8 day trips. If our Young Carers weren't zip lining through the forest then they were making furry new friends at the Scottish Deer Centre or scaley friends at Butterfly World. Click here to read the full write up and see all the pictures!

In August last year, 10 Young Carers had the trip of a lifetime when they travelled over 3,000 miles to attend Camp Kahuna in Toronto! During the week we took part in so many different activities including drumming, magic, dance, weird science, drama, scavenger hunt and an escape room. Click here to read their diary from this amazing trip!
