Later this year, the Young Carers Hub will be launching a Young Carers identification card in partnership with NHS Tayside. This ID card will be offered to all young carers registered with the service. It is hoped that the card will allow young people to be better recognised by professionals as a young carer, specifically in schools and by health professionals.

We would note at this point that the ID cards are a pilot to see how well the ID cards work and the first phase is to distribute cards to 8-12 years olds, followed by secondary age young carers at a later date.
