This theme for Young Carers Awareness Day this year (31 January 2019), was mental health which we linked with The Carers Trust #CareForMeToo campaign. #CareForMeToo is a new campaign that aims to raise public awareness about mental health probelms that can be experienced by young people as a result of their caring responsibilities and improve the availabiltiy of support for the mental health of young carers. 

The purpose of Young Carers Awareness Day is to raise public awareness of the challenges faced by young people because of their caring role, and to campaign for greater support for young carers and their needs.

For Young Carers Awareness Day the L.A.B teamed up with some youngpeople from the Carers Trust to find out about what being a young carer inolves. 

To raise awareness we had a Young Carers takeover on our Facebook page where we shared short video clips of staff sharing tips and advice on how to deal with your caring role and from the Carers themselves telling you why they think the service and support they recieve is so important.
