PKAVS Carers Hub have been developing a short breaks programme called Respitality. This is an initiative pioneered by the Scottish Government and Shared Care Scotland. It involves carer’s centre's building relationships with local business to secure gifts, such as overnight stays, tickets, meals out etc. Once gifts are secured they will then be matched with unpaid carers who are on the Respitality waiting list.

We recognise that volunteers bring invaluable experience to organisations like Perth & Kinross Carers Hub. In return we offer volunteer expenses, facilitate ongoing training with a view to enhancing personal and professional development, we will also give employment references if requested. We fully encourage volunteers to suggest improvements to existing services and encourage a sense of belonging to the overall team.
The offer of volunteering is subject to two satisfactory references and a satisfactory Disclosure Scotland check (protecting vulnerable groups).
